What it does

Benzoyl peroxide reduces acne-causing bacteria and has a mild peeling effect, making it effective on inflamed, active breakouts in particular.

How it works

It releases oxygen into the pore, an environment the acne-causing bacteria (C. acnes) cannot survive in, reducing the bacterial load that drives inflammation.

Take care

Can bleach fabric and hair — let it dry before contact with towels or clothing. Patch test first, and discontinue on irritation. Not intended for anyone under 18 without a doctor's guidance. Follow the Drug Facts label on the pack, which takes priority over general guidance.
